Room to Grow
Newly ordained
deacons
Dressed in white
shirts
Sleeves bunched
around the wrists
Waiting for hands
that now hold the Priesthood power
To reach their
divine potential
Some so small,
still dressed in children’s suits
Legs will stretch
until
ankles appear
above the feet
which are set on
the covenant path
Unruly hair tamed
today
In preparation to
serve the Lord
Covers a head
bowed
As those sacred
prayers are said
that cleanse my
soul
As the head
bowed, the humble knees bend
The priesthood
hands carry to me
The sacred
emblems of our Savior
Then I may remove
my sins
And I will have
room to grow.
